Begin in the legendary Silk Road city of Samarkand, then cross the border into Tajikistan to explore the Seven Lakes of the Shing Valley and the alpine beauty of Iskandarkul Lake in the Fann Mountains. In just two days, you’ll experience both vibrant cultural heritage and breathtaking mountain landscapes before returning to Samarkand.

Day 1: Samarkand → Panjakent → Seven Lakes
Morning pick-up from your hotel in Samarkand.
Transfer to the border (Jartepa), cross on foot.
Meet your Tajik driver/guide and drive to Panjakent.
Visit Sarazm UNESCO site and Panjakent bazaar (time permitting).
Continue into the Shing Valley to visit the Seven Lakes (Haftkul)—each lake with its own striking color.
Light walks, photography, and local village visits.
Return to Panjakent for overnight stay in hotel.
Day 2: Panjakent → Iskandarkul → Samarkand
After breakfast, drive through the mountains to Iskandarkul Lake (Alexander’s Lake).
Explore the turquoise lake, nearby waterfall, and enjoy fresh mountain air.
Afternoon drive back to the border and cross into Uzbekistan.
Transfer to your hotel in Samarkand by evening.
